The Energy Survey

A qualified and licensed energy assessor will have to visit a property to conduct an energy survey using the Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RdSAP) that could take up to one hour to complete.

The assessor will be surveying the main building plus any extensions and conservatories, to determine their energy efficiency and environmental impact.

After an initial risk assessment the energy assessor will be gathering data on items such as:

-Building type and method of construction

-Building age, size and heat loss area

-Methods and levels of insulation

-Windows and lighting

-Space and water heating including their controls

A current and potential rating will be given for both ratings along with an indication of running costs for heating, lighting and hot water.
The potential rating and the cost savings that come with it can be achieved by following the recommended measures.
